The Politics Experimental Laboratory at the University of Virginia explores the psychological, cognitive, and social microfoundations of political violence. Using rigorous, reproducible behavioral experiments, the Experimental Lab team seeks to uncover the causal processes that lead to conflict in human
social systems. Understanding political violence requires an approach that spans across the social sciences. Our work incorporates insights from a variety of fields, including psychology, economics, political science, statistics, sociology and communications.
